Shamar has been a non-profit leader for over 17 years. He has raised $150M+ in public, private, and corporate partnerships as well as individual, institutional, and corporate giving. He builds and operationalizes data-focused donor solicitation and stewardship strategies that entail international and domestic fundraising programs. While tapping into new funder segments, he retains and expands existing portfolios by elevating the donor experience through consistent recognition and engagement. He is the President at The Fostering Connection, which offers pro-bono psychoanalysis to foster affected youth and young adults in New York City. He is the recipient of numerous awards including a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and a scholarship from Fine Arts Work Center. He is working on a memoir and poetry collection. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and children.
